I'm so glad I waited to write this review. This restaurant came highly recommended by my friend that visits the area often. A group of us arrived and from the start the waitress had some form of beef with us. She was not friendly at all and I was getting very annoyed, which says a lot because I'm so easy going with things. The food was exceptional! Everyone loved their dishes. We almost didn't visit again because of our first waitress but luckily we came back. The waitress we had on our repeat visit was outstanding!! She went above and beyond and made this restaurant stand out finally as it should have originally.

The food was great. Good atmosphere, very neighborhood-ish. Would have given 5 stars except for the slow service. Worth a try!

What a great local place, super friendly and feels like a neighborhood gem. Ask for Morgan!

Service was very poor tonight. The food: pizza is delish, but everytime we order it takes more than an hour. I used to think it was because they were slammed. Tonight we decided to come in and get served. It was around 630, The place was not packed, no big deal it was early. To be exact 4 tables including us and a few people at the bar, Waitress came by at some point, we ordered shrimp scampy and a salad. The waiting game began, as our hunger deepened. The waitress never stopped by to see if we were ok, to tell us the food will be out soon, or perhaps tells us they were short staffed, or something. After 40 minutes I got the soup that came with the scampi i ordered. at this point we told her we would like our food" to go" thinking our food was surely coming out soon. The "H'anger" was setting in, still no word from the waitress. Now 60 minutes later, still no food. Started thinking the cook was the delivery guy as well. Super hungry and upset we politely waited wondering if we should just leave. 80 minutes later we got our food. We paid and needed change, which we had to wait another 10 minutes. REALLY!!! AT LEAST HAVE A TINY BIT OF CUSTOMER SERVICE, WE UNDERSTAND AND HAVE COMPASSION FOR YOU WHEN YOU REACH OUT AND ARE HONEST.

I remember when this place opened and I feel like I knew the owners from working at their bank, but that was like a decade ago + I had never been here, because there are so many options in Costa Mesa that I know well. It was late and places were closing as I called them at 9:30, but this place did not dissapoint I think they were open till 10pm or maybe they just took us late... I don't remember. I ordered the garlic bread- delicious and satisfied the immediate need for Garlic! I ordered the 8 inch pizza with Garlic and other stuff no sauce or red sauce on the pizza which was nice. The pizza came with soup.... a spicy minestrone- delicious! Overall I was very pleased and would come back here- It is a challenge in this area, because there are so many options- often overwheming!

We used to order pizza from here every Monday night, the pizza was SO good and delivery driver always greeted us by our first names and even new our kids. It was my FAVORITE pizza. But then I think that they changed owners. I still order from there, but not as often. The crust changed and I think the over all quality did as well. I still LOVE the calamari! IT is our favorite thing on the menu. I also love their salads.

We arrived early, I believe there was only one person at the bar. We put in our to- go order and decided to have a beer while we were waiting. I ordered a Moretti on draft. There was a coke cup over the tap saying they were out of that beer. The waitress seemed very put out that I asked if they had had any other Italian beer in bottles. I then asked for a Peroni. The waitress went to get it, and then turned to tell me they were out of that brand as well. By this time several customers had come in to sit down to dine/drink or pick up a to-go order. We started to notice the kitchen orders were coming out for others. We waited 30 minutes before asking when our food would be ready. The waitress asked the kitchen crew about our order and it had not even been started. She said it should be about four minutes. About 15 to 20 minutes later we finally got our food. The waitress gave no eye contact, was clearly unapologetic regarding the lack of service , and put no utensils in our to-go bag. We found her to be down right rude. Now let's get to the food...small portions, thrown together with no attention to detail, zero value. We had ordered two salads and a chicken club sandwich that was bite size. For 38.00 plus tax we were disappointed. We got back to our hotel ate the food and were still so hungry we ordered a Dominoes Pizza for $15.00. Now that's a meal!!

Had the BLT pizza, couscous croquettes, and the Cesar salad - the pizza and salad were really good but the croquettes were not my style. The service was fast and the wait staff was friendly and helpful, would definitely go back for the pizza and salad.

Conveniently located next door to Motel 6, where we stayed in February 2014, we ate here twice. But not just because of the convenience. The food is really good! It also ended up being a great place to watch the "big game." It really is a great neighborhood restaurant. The lasagna was fabulous and they have a nice selection of beer and wine.

Such a cute little restaurant with an amazing, attentive staff! Jasmine was a tremendous waitress! The pizza was to die for & the pasta was very fresh and tasted homemade! Definitely recommend this place for date night!

The pizza was fresh BUT everything was kinda salty, which is why I only gave it three stars (which in my playbook means I would come back here, but it's not my top option-- it's not out for the count either) The staff was SUPER helpful and nice, they were just the right amount of attentive and always kept our beverages full, and brought our food out as soon as it was ready. I would recommend coming here with a big group, especially if you're salt lovers and enjoy italian food. Has a big screen television that they play sports and news on, which is nice at a pizza place. Prices are alright, not super cheap and not ridiculously expensive. Parking is either in the back lot or the side street. If you pass it, you have to make a few rights to get back to the restaurant since that side of Newport is a one way street going North!

Pretty good pizza, but fairly pricey too. Ordered the Spinach and Feta Pizza. It's good and garlicky but really needs something more... like red sauce! Yeah, I'm a Jersey girl and love my sauuuuce, what of it? But seriously, it needs a little something more to elevate it from pretty good to good. In order for it to be AWESOME, Napa Valley would need to do some serious work on their crust too. Also ordered the "Italian style" pizza, which is basically a thinner crust and perhaps a bit more red sauce that what they'd normally put on a pie. I think I liked this one better. At least it had more robust flavor. Service was nice and normal. They even put up with our drunk and fairly obnoxious crew. Decor is very casual. This place is way too pricey for the quality of their pizzas. If I want to spend that kind of money, I'd rather go to Il Dolce and have FABULOUS pizza instead.

The food is above average... the problem was, my girlfriend and i went on a saturday night and they had ONE person running the entire store. She was running around, trying to take care of 30 people at the same time. I hope the owners of this mom and pop restaurant read this review and do something about the staffing. I'm pretty sure our waitress/bartender/hostess/order taker/table cleaner (all the same blond girl) cannot take a break, use the restroom or do anything else since she was alone. 2 hours into our meal, we did see the owner come out attempt to clean a table... took him 25 mins! lazy ownership but great service for 1 employee and a such a small restaurant. We had the pesto pasta, stuffed shells and a bottle of wine. Everything was only $60

I had decided to browse Yelp months before and came across this place; since it has received great reviews on here, my co-worker and I decided to try it out for lunch on a weekend. We were not disappointed, especially since they deliver (although, there is a $15 minimum for delivery). I ordered one of the salads and the delivery guy was right on time and the salad was great. The lettuce was crispy, the chicken was tasty and they even put the dressing on the side. My co-worker ordered the chicken parm sandwich and she was in love with it. She said the chicken was not dry and the parm was just right. Will definitely be going back here!

Super dry chicken, mushy noodles, bad taste. Our waitress had to wait 2 minutes for us to transfer money and gave us a bad attutide, very rude. Don't understand where these great reviews are cumin from. Slower sercice than a snail

Score seems low but has more to do with value than taste. Food was good but pricey for what you get. Think there re better options for the money.

I am going with 5 stars because of the service, food quality and atmosphere. This is a GREAT 'locals' kind of place. If you live close to this place, where you can walk, a perfect spot to check out. My GF works just down Victoria from here. We would get onto the 55fwy and one day I noticed this place right near the fwy entrance. I said we should try it sometime.... so we did. We eat hear at least once a week... sometimes twice if I am helping her out after school (shes a teacher and I maintain her class pets once or twice a week). We really enjoy the service we get and the quality. We mostly order a large Tai Chicken pizza, but so we don't OD on this awesome pizza we've been branching out. The calzone is great and the salads are awesome. On Friday we got the calzone with a greek salad, perfect for us to share. I've also had some pasta dishes as well but Those were the first couple of times in here.... so I can't remember which ones I liked most lol. I'd just say, it's all pretty good. One of the owners is always there, he does the delivery stuff and helps out in between deliveries. Service is always good and friendly. We must be regulars now....when we come in now, one of the waitresses just leans over and says 'diet coke and an amber bock, and the Tai Chicken pizza?". We threw her a curve ball this past Friday... :D I want to Quote another reviewer of Nappa: Andrew F. "Prices are more than fair considering the caliber of the ingredients and large portions one receives. " He is spot on! People need to remember, if you want something done right, or to taste good (or great!) it takes good quality ingredients. So if you want it right, your gonna have to pay just a bit more. Personally I don't think we spend 'too much' for what we get. I think when we leave the tab is about $35? A pizza, beer and a soda and tip... Not bad considering my GF can have left over pizza for one or two days for lunch (I am not a cold pizza fan and pizza almost never warms up well). I wish I knew the names of the girls who work here.... but the 'newer' girl has picked up the routine pretty well and remembers us pretty well. We've had maybe..... 3-4 other girls but only two of them more than once. I am pretty sure it just depends on the day you go. I have seen reviews of people commenting on the service.... and what cracks me up is, i've seen these people come in... not specific to the reviews i've seen... but just people who are similar. People with very poor communication skills. I mean, the waiters are very friendly, and I guess might expect a certain type of customer... so when these poor communicators come in, I think there is a bit of disconnect from the norm and.. well, learn to say what you mean and ask for what you want and people who are there to serve you can better serve you. like the review from Beau J., maybe your cell phone wasn't getting a good connection, using T-mobile? Maybe you were in a loud place? I am a bit defensive cause I think the people have been pretty nice to us. But then again, we're pretty friendly people, so... you get what you give. Worth checking out at least once, we enjoy it weekly since.... Feb. '12. I will load some photos next time we go.

This place has pretty good pizza IMO. Heavy, but tasty. Also have had lots of tasty pastas there, one of my faves is a make-your-own with cheese ravioli, creamy pesto sauce and italian sausage that my friend made up, and it's out of control good. But when you add up all the stuff it's like $18. Yowza. But worth it if you split it with said friend. Carppy ambiance though. Like I might see a kids soccer team walk in at any minute. I never did, but it's got lame flourescent lighting, a bartop and uncomfortable tables/chairs. etc. The patio is decent, small. But the food is good and they deliver. if you're close. Oh, the wine is likely out of a box.

I was impressed with Napa from the first time I went and have been back several times in the few months that I found it. First of all, the lunch special is a great deal: a large slice of pizza with two toppings and a large salad with cheese, cucumber, onion, tomato, and olives. Second of all, the pizza is awesome; one of my favorites of all time. The crust is fairly thin (not NY thin, if you're looking for that, but still delish!), has a ton of flavor, and is cooked so that it's crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. The cheese/sauce/toppings/crust ratio is perfect. I've almost always gotten the salad and slice but everything I've tasted has been great. The garlic bread is perfectly garlicky, the sausage on the sausage and peppers sandwich is delicate & flavorful, the minestrone has such great depth of flavor. Oh, and the carrot cake... HEAVEN! But the main reason I'm giving Napa five stars is because of the people. Every time I've gone I've had my baby with me and almost every time, I've been with other Moms who have had their babies with them. No matter who is working, the staff has always gone out of their way for us, have never complained or given a dirty look when one of the kiddos makes a mess, and are super friendly. Napa is a 15-20 minute drive for me but I will continue to go back often!

We have been going to Napa Valley for take out pizza for years. This is one of our go-to pizza places. We have occasionally ordered pasta dishes and they are OK, but their strength is really the pizza.

I would actually give this place 4.65 out of 5 stars if I could. Great food. Nay! Awesome food. It was very apparent they use fresh quality ingredients in all their dishes. I had the chicken pesto calzone, and my girlfriend had the home-made lentil soup. Both were excellent! I look forward to trying the rest of the menu. Prices are more than fair considering the caliber of the ingredients and large portions one receives. On a side note. The service was a little slow but I was completely engrossed in my meal so I didn't notice until the end when I waited for the bill to be dropped off picked up and returned.

Well that was a disappointment. Way overpriced and NOT worth it in the least. I got a side house salad and an 8" pizza with pepperoni and bacon. Cheese was stiff and just sorta slid off the crust when you bit it. I guess it's a personal preference but I'm not a fan of putting the toppings beneath the cheese for cooking. Didn't really cook the pepperoni. The salad was fresh but that doesn't really take a genius to make and to have gotten the cheese it would've been a dollar more. I wouldn't order here again. The employee I spoke to on the phone and the one that delivered were both friendly. Oh and I originally wanted to order the chocolate cake but apparently they were all out at 7pm Friday night so I got the salad to meet the $15 delivery requirement.

I've been here a few times randomly over the past 2 years. I like their outdoor patio and their bar area. The pasta has always been a little too garlicy for me, and their side salad is gross (shoulda gotten the minestrone!!). The ravioli is SUPER delish, and you can get big ass beers. The pizza is mouth-watering. The staff is always friendly and it's never too crowded. You can "design your own pasta" for around $10 which includes a side salad OR soup. You pick the pasta the sauce, and if you want any meat with it.

Where do I start! Atmosphere is great, food is excellent!! Creamy cilantro dressing with an authentic Italian salad and very large slice of pizza with your choice of toppings makes for an untouchable lunch!!

The dining date 3/11/2011 So the food was ok, not terrible just nothing special. I was even overlooking the fact that my server had on light blue sweat/trak pants. (and looked like she just rolled out of bed) So we have paid our tab and my fiance and I are finishing our conversation before I head back into work (where I am the GM of a restaurant) and the server walks up to the table says I guess you are done with these grabs our half full drinks and walk into the kitchen! You have got to kidding me! Don't rush me out when I had to ask you for our bill to begin with. It took everything I had to not go back and ask her to reopen the check so that I could revoke my 20% tip. So for leaving with a very bad impression only 1 star for you. Please find servers that are actually worth it and I will be happy to change my review.

This place surprised me! Totally non-pretentious food - whole, real ingredients that melt in your mouth. Everything is made from scratch. Happy to pay for a meal prepared and delivered by people who love what they do! I will be back often!

I literally stumbled over this place while staying in Newport for 1 night. They were incredibly friendly, the food was very good and they even played the Laker game for me at request. Staff was very professional and warm, I had Lentil soup, eggplant parmigiana and tiramisu ! All great for a more than reasonable price. I would drive here from my home in L.A !!

I hate to go two stars because I really do like this place, but the cost/benefit ratio is poor. the food is slightly above average but food, beer, and sides are all way, way overpriced and undersized. On food and atmosphere alone I would recommend this place, but you could get a lot more bang for you buck.

Great Service, Great Food & Speedy Delivery W/ A Smile!! The pizza reminds me of what I used to get at neighborhood places when I lived in San Francisco. Fresh ingredients make all the difference! The Chinese Chicken Salad is awesome & so is the garlic cheese bread. Highly recommend this local favorite!

Pizza is the thick crust variety with lots of cheese which tends to make it a bit soggy...definitely not NY style. The salads are big but lack flavor. They have a small selection of beer and wine. The patio is a nice place to enjoy an evening dinner.

Ironically enough, Napa Valley is my go to place when I don't feel like cooking and want something healthy...and I'm too lazy to drive. I know what you're thinking... pizza and pasta... erm.... Huh? The salads, mang. The salads are effing YUM. I've tried several... the Caesar... the Antipasto... the Hot & Spicy Chicken Salad...and my absolute fav - the Chinese Chicken Salad... The Antipasto is probably my least favorite... but this is not due to any foul on the part of Napa Valley... I'm just not as into salami, mortadella, or Italian ham as much as the Atkins crazed patrons those kinda salads are designed for... and I'm picky when it comes to onions...and there are LOTS intermingling with the mozzarella, tomatoes, provolone, and pepperchinis in that AP salad. The Hot & Spicy Chicken salad is good, if you are craving hot wings but paying mind to your waist line... romaine lettuce is topped with a bite size pieces of chicken breast that is sautéed in a hot buffalo wing sauce... then topped with shredded mozzarella cheese and served with two sides of ranch dressing. It's like hot wings without the mess! (Assuming you're gonna use a fork, ya know...) My absolute FAVORITE, though - is the Chinese Chicken Salad.... chopped romaine lettuce, julienned carrots, chopped scallions, cilantro, chunks of grilled, skinless chicken breast, and topped with crispy wontons. Served with two sides of peanut dressing because this salad is seriously HUGE - I mean, it is freaking Goodyear huge, k? I split the salad in half and fill a Tupperware container so I have lunch the next day. Huzzah! I'm a Economically Aware cookie, sometimes. Often, my order is not complete without a side of garlic bread...that is some good stuff right there... four pieces of French bread loaded with garlic and I always add cheese for a mere .75 more.... Gooey, good stuff!!! The only drawback is delivery time. It can sometimes take about an hour to receive your order...so I would call 'em up at the first sign of tummy rumble. The delivery peeps are always very friendly! So, in closing... when I think Napa Valley - I get that warm, lush feeling due to my love of vino. When I think Napa Valley Pizza & Pasta - it's all about the salad!

Stopped by for a quick dinner on a business trip. Good quick service on a Wednesday night. Romaine salad with Italian dressing and the baked ziti were very good and just filling enough. My only complaint is that I assumed bread would be included with the $14.95 meal. When it didn't show up I asked and was told it was an additional dollar. It either should be included or the waitress should mention it as an option when ordering.

I was very surprised that this place had such low rating. I think this is a hidden gem in costa mesa. I go there for their lunch special and they are very nice, attentive and fast. I only had the pizza there and they are delicious.

I posted this review once before back in September but it somehow got deleted...hmmm My wife and I are regulars at Napa. This was "our place" where we could sit down and our waitress already knew what beers to bring us without asking. They are now under new ownership and as a result things have changed for the worse. It makes me sad. The portions have gotten much smaller, but the price has stayed the same. Even the wait staff is not happy about losing their regulars. The pizza has always been known for the amazing amounts of cheese and good dough. No more. The pizza now has barely any cheese or sauce, and they are stingy with the toppings. The crust was reminiscent of Digiorno and the antipasto is at least a 1/3 less in size which is a total change from just two weeks ago. We said goodbye to our waitress tonight. We are sad because although this place was never cheap we had no problem paying the prices because it was a cool local joint with good food and a great staff but we refuse to spend the same amount of money for smaller amounts of inferior quality food. We are searching for our new place.

the food here is good. the staff is eh... I haven't been here in a long time because of the servers (and the owner) way overpriced for what you get. $15 for a plate of pasta - it's not that type of restaurant. very casual almost fast food feel to it? I can go down to Newport and get a meal at somewhere like Villa Nova for that - plus have a spectacular view of the harbor. I will say it tastes good. but - not $15 good. I'm not sure who the guy below is talking about but unless it's under new ownership it's owned by a husband and wife - neither one with an Italian accent and both aren't very pleasant. Maybe the old owners sold the place. hope the new authentic owners are doing a better job then.

Turned down because I wasn't in their delivery area... Usually I would just shrug it off and pick it up but I'm unpacking boxes (just moved to Costa Mesa) and have no time to pick up a pizza. So i guess Dominos to the rescue once again! I do have to agree with Tiffany H. though... if they can't drive 2.5 miles for me then why should I drive 2.5 miles to you. Doesn't make sense and it's super bad for business! Hopefully they change their policy until then 1 star.

I've been going to this place back when they used to be off 17th street and I still go for the same reason.... the pene santa fe. The ambiance or lack their of probably drives more costumers away then brings them in. Which is too bad because that pene santa fe is, for all things that are holy, one of the most spectacular pastas ever. If I'm ever asked by a gf "me or the pasta" I'd tell that women to pack those pretty little bags. Back to the pasta... there really is nothing I hate more than cream sauces on pastas except for maybe mayo on anything. As If pastas aren't heavy enough by themselves adding cream just tips the scale (no pun intended). However, this pasta has a very light cream sauce, light enough to be a broth. The pasta is then topped with thin cappacollo Italian ham, jalapenos, mushrooms, black olives, tomatoes, and fresh basil. Wow! The heat from the jalapenos really takes it to that next level. I recommend to everyone before they review this place to first order that pasta. 1 star for ambiance and decor, 3 more for friendly staff and pene santa fe.

The food is not bad, but a bit overpriced. They even charged $1 for plain old bread! Who does that?! Seriously! That is unheard of! Never coming back here again! Nothing like the Napa Valley I know!

A buddy and I walked in this place looking for a quick bite tonight and I was inspired to ACTUALLY join here and write this, my first review on Yelp - they are deserving. We were greeted with prompt and very courteous service. We ordered the risotto croquettes, salads, a pizza, garlic bread, and iced teas. The croquettes were fried and normally I'm not a fan of fried foods but these were delicious with a blend of risotto, cheese and spices. Salad was fresh and good. The garlic bread was the best I've had in years - it was covered with cheese and generous amounts of what tasted like fresh garlic. The pizza was piping hot with a unique sauce that again had a bit of garlic and a blend what tasted like very fresh ingredients. Our server never allowed our glasses to be empty or our table to be cluttered. Now, I will say that if you are not a fan of fresh garlic (I am), then I would not recommend the garlic bread. To be honest, I didn't go in there with high expectations, but I left knowing that I'd be back there on a regular basis.

I don't know the owner...past or present...nor do i care to. This is a completely unbiased review. I walked in off the street hoping for a quick dinner on the way to OCPAC. It wasn't quick and it wasn't hardly dinner. First, the place has a serious identity crisis. You drive by and see the big cheesy $7.00 lunch specials and Happy Hour specials banners and you start thinking..ok, quick, reasonable pizza place. Well maybe it's that way at lunch and happy hour, but dinner is a joke. It tries hard to be a local Italian bistro at night, but it lacks 2 big things that make it not so...charm and good food. With a name like Napa Valley Pizza, you have to be thinking your going to get some good wine at least. I looked at the menu, the menu board, the floor...I couldn't find a wine list. I saw a fridge behind the bar that looked like it had a few bottles of BV Chard or something like that...but that was it. I couldn't even figure out how to order wine...amazing. The other thing that turned me off about the place was the price. DInner for 3 with sodas and tip.... $63.00!!!! What did we have - How about Spaghetti and meat balls for $17. Baked Ziti (about 1-2 ounces worth) $14 bucks and a sandwich. Actually the Ziti might have been 3 ounces as it did still have that big full Bay leaf in the middle of it. They charge $4 for garlic bread and a buck every time they bring french bread out. The Ziti was clearly zapped. It was mostly lukewarm but had hot pockets inside of it that would burn off the taste buds off your tongue. The salad that came with the meal was nothing more than Romaine lettuce, 1 cherry tomato cut in half and 1 slice of cucumber covered in about a pound of canned black olives and slices of white onion. Eck! When I left, I considered that maybe I would give it 2-3 stars but now that a few days have passed, I feel like 2 is pushing it. I'd go for the 1star but the flavor of the food was decent at least. I was thinking I would go back and try a lunch special, but in realty, I know I will not. I love to support the local eatery but next time I'm heading to the theater and I'm spending $21 p/p for spaghetti dinners, I'm going to Maggianos.

Pretty good pizza, okay pasta. It's a small, cute place to have dinner, and the service is good. The first time Tavis and I came here we dined in and had pasta. The pasta was alright but both of our dishes had waaaaaaaaaaaayyyy too much sauce. Our poor little noodles were drowning in it. The second time we ate here we just ordered a pizza to go. The pizza was tasty, if a little pricey. I don't know if I'd go back for pasta but I'd probably order pizza here again. Being only a mile or so away from my house, it's pretty convenient, and I like supporting non-chain restaurants even if it costs me a few dollars more.

Pizza at Napa Valley is pretty good... in my opinion, better than Nick's but far from Roman Cucina. I don't know if a 3 is warranted (seems harsh) but I think a 4 is a stretch. The best thing about Napa Valley pizza, according to my bf, is that it's loaded with cheese but I'm vegan so that doesn't do much for me (his review would likely hit that 4). I want a pizza to taste amazing because of a perfect crust, a sauce with rich, deep flavor, and delicious, fresh vegetables. The crust on this pizza is a plus - nice and thin for the 8" but sturdy enough to support the veggies & sauce. The flavor of the sauce isn't bad but isn't amazing. Like I said, much better than a bunch of other places I've been before all over OC and LA but not a sauce that made me do cartwheels. I ordered my personal 8" -which, is a perfect amount of food for one, along w/ their romaine salad - with black olives and artichoke. Granted it was vegan-style without the gooey cheese all over it, but it looked a little sad when I opened up the box. I had some fresh basil, garlic & spinach on hand so I sliced and added some of that to spruce it up a bit. Just seemed like it needed more green or something to wake it up. After my simple add-ons I thought it was worth that 4, so maybe incorporating some of those flavors (basil especially) in the sauce would take it to the next level. But I'll order from Napa Valley again. :)

It's all about the veggie pizza here. Even my non vegetarian friends dig it. Very filling and the veggies are fancy (think big artichoke hearts) not just the same old small bits of onion and olives that some of the cheaper places have. It's obviously more expensive than, say, Dominos, but its way better. We get the large and eat leftovers for the next 2 days....Its an investment in your future. Do it.

We were the only ones in the place and it was kind of weird. Being our first time there - didn't give us warm fuzzies. The waitress was quick to bring us menus and take drink orders. We weren't given any breads or other nibbles while we waited. Granted in Italy breads are not traditionally given but we aren't in Italy. I am used to the American services of breads before an Italian dinner like chips / salsa at a Mexican restaurant. When we ordered, we asked about some of the dishes. The waitress literally pointed out a couple NOT to order. At least she was honest. The salads came and there wasn't enough dressing to dip the tomato's in let alone cover the salad. The wine was actually really good. When our food did come it was surprisingly good. Although I will have to agree with the other reviewer the price is set way to high for the food quality and the service. Given breads and a little more salad and I wouldn't object so much to the prices.

This is definitely a small pizza joint... kinda like an old skool pizza hut back in the day but smaller. Anyhow the people there were pretty nice and I ordered the 8" pepperoni & mushroom pizza it came out to be about $10 w/ tax and all. Pizza was pretty good nice and fresh. But I thought it was kinda pricey for a pizza joint especially a small one since we all know we can just go to dominos, costco, pizza hut for a large pizza at less than $10.

I'm posting for my BF . . . he LOOOOOOOOVES this place! He eats there 4 times a week. The service is attentive and chatty, the patrons are Costa Mesa's family type and respectable locales. Food is Italian in nature and typical for a pizzaria. Their signature stuff is pizza and Thai Chicke Pasta, try it! He enjoys his time there very much.

"Pepperoni and Green Olive Pizza!" That's all I have to say about this place. If you have never tried Pepperoni and Green Olive Pizza then this is the place to go. They might not have the world's best pizza but I'll give it 4 stars. I have been looking so loooong for a place In SoCal that had green olives on their menu for a pizza topping and I finally found it. Nowhere in Orange County have I found a pizza place to have Green Olives on their menu. I was able to get Nick's Pizza to put them on a few times but it became too much trouble for them since it was the olives from the owners sons stash for his martinis. I sometimes would bring in my own bottle of green olives and they would put them on but too much trouble for me then. When I am in the mood for Pepperoni and Green Olive Pizza I now have a place to go, Napa Valley Pizza & Pasta. If I want the best pizza in Orange County I will go to Nick's Pizza. I also tried a pasta dish, "Penne Chicken Alfredo". It was good. I also tried there Tiramisu! It was good but a little dry. I usually have coffee with my dessert but I had picked up my order for takeout. If I would have had coffee with the Tiramisu I would have soaked the bottom of it and it would have been perfect then. The place is small and a little loud but if you like a local feel to hang out at, eating there would suit you well. I will defiantly be back for more of their "Pepperoni and Green Olive Pizza" though.

We bought a gift card from restaurant.com --- a deal that the restaurant signs up for---and they refused to honor it---no reason---nothing wrong with my gift card---they just aren't honoring them. I will not patronize any restaurant that does business this way.

We went in with a restaurant.com gift certificate and were told they weren't honoring them...told us they asked to be removed from the website but hadn't been yet....i went home and checked and they are listed as a NEW restaurant - no apology or anything for us. We decided to stay and try it out - BAD decision - pizza not at all worth the price, the mushrooms on it were from a can, disgusting!!! also ordered a chicken parmesan sandwich just the sandwich, $9.95 (i think it was close to $3.00 more if you wanted fries!) - it was ridiculously small and the chicken was as thin as a cracker! This place is not worth the money or the time. Head a few blocks away to Harbor and Wilson and go to Nicks - always delicious, ALWAYS.

This place sucks!!!! My family and myself were looking for a place to eat pizza late around 9:30 pm. We came across this place and were treated like step children...... The waitress was rude and hurried us up the whole time!!! We spent a good amount of money in this establishment and felt like we needed to pound down our beers and power down the pizza. When we got to the end of the meal the owners were just standing at the counter staring at us as if to say hurry up and get the F#@k out. Telling us to close out the tab like NOW!!! NOT COOL.I would never go to this place again.

I have only had the pizza here and it was decent. We went on a Sunday to place a to go order and the ambiance was weird. We walked in and the place was packed with a few guys having beer, a fat guy having beer sat at the bar watching TV and giving dirty looks. I was really put off by the fact that when you walk in everyone that was hanging out stares at you like they are going to murder you or something. I don't think I will go back it wasn't that good to deal with the weird stagnant vibe and run the risk or bumping into the fat guy again. Ohh on another note something positive I noticed was the beer was a good deal, huge glass for $3 - $4.25

Pizza was horrible! Ordered the spinach and pesto pizza but didn't know the spinach was going to be so soggy and excessive. The whole pizza was covered in spinach. Servers were not the nicest either. Didn't really try to help us have a better experience. Didn't even try. Just said "sorry". That was it. Price was too high also.

It was my first time here on Sunday. I drove many times down newport blvd and saw this cute blue house. Finally my friend and I stopped there! what a cozy restaurant! Nice outdoor patio with heaters. We ordered lentil soup , very tasty, very very good. I got pasta Santa Fe as an entrée, I ate the whole thing(meal was huge) it was delicious. Our server I forgot her name (she is pregnant ) super friendly, very attentive, she really took care of us.i hope this place will offer gluten-free pasta soon. I would recommend this place, if u r looking for good Italian food ,good service and friendly prices u should come here. We had such a nice experience. We'll be back!

The little restaurant that could! Background: While in the area for a water polo tournament we decided to put together a team dinner. Great idea except it was Valentine's Day and we needed seats for 30. Uh huh...as you might guess we got every imaginable form of denial possible while trying to make reservations; ranging from polite no's to "You must be CRAZY!". When we called NVP&P they agreed to seat us with the warning that they would have to put us on the patio and it would be tight. No problem the two teams needed a pasta feed and they won't mind. Upon arrival our party had grown closer to 50 people and yet NVP&P didn't turn us away; even after we filled the patio, the bar and every available seat in the dining room. The patio was nicely arranged; the plants, string lights and the space heaters made the space very comfortable. The staff kicked into overdrive and made our team dinner a huge success. They were all smiles and kept what cold have been a pressure cooker situation light and entertaining. The food was outstanding; I had the Eggplant Parmesan which came with a bowl of Minestrone. My meal was perfectly prepared and also perfectly sized. The pizza looked outstanding (not the conveyor belt pizza that is everywhere in Cali). They have multiple beers on tap including Stella. Thank you so much Napa Valley Pizza & Pasta; we'll CU next year...with a little more notice and a better head count! Cheers!

Overpriced and not a thing special about it. I want to love you guys, you've been a local pizza shop forever (was named Brooklyn pizza), but you just don't do it. No umph. No love. Nada. It's sad.

Pizza is pretty good here. Some good quality ingredients being applied. I didn't really like the dough. Plain. Wish it had a little seasoning. Also had some wings. Good size wings but the sauce was generic buffalo sauce.

Two visits in less than a week. That alone should say something. My GF and I split two meals, so we each could enjoy two items. Soups we enjoyed were: MINESTRONE, Consisting of a wonderful warm blend of chicken broth, potatoes, zucchini, cabbage, string beans, garbanzo beans, roma tomatoes, garlic and onion. And LENTIL, Consisting of chicken broth, lentil beans, carrots, onions, celery, potatoes, olive oil, garlic, and Italian seasonings. Dinner choices were: SPINACH MANICOTTI. Crepe shells stuffed with fresh spinach plus a rich blend of ricotta, mozzarella and romano cheeses. Topped with our homemade marinara sauce. And PENNE PORTOFINO Artichokes, mushrooms, green olives, tomatoes, green onion, capers and Pinot Grigio white wine. Extremely casual, no need to wear a tie :-) Overall quite unassuming. Spoke with both the owner and chef. Note, the owner is of thin build. This has been a clue as to the well balanced meals served. Same for the employees of this establishment and the Cucina Alessa I visited last June as well as the owner of the A Slice Of New York Pizza restaurant in Hunting Beach. Note to self: It seems that thin Italians know how to eat well and stay fit. Will I return - heck yes - maybe tomorrow.

I love this place. Laid back atmosphere, super friendly staff, GREAT FOOD! I'm really glad we chose to come here. Bf had an amazing 12in pizza (3 meals worth for one person!) super homemade sauce and fresh veggies. Just a great taste. I had the penne Alfredo, customized to my tastes. They were more than happy and even offered to make it the way I wanted it. The waitress was great, super sweet... A very down to earth real person. Don't have anything bad to say at all. Don't hesitate to go here!

3.5 rounding up to 4. Came here for a casual dinner with the office peeps. Our big group of 12 settled in at a long table. This is not a big place but a pretty good size with a bar and 3+ flat screen TV to catch the games. It's definitely got that neighborhood pizzeria feel. There was a lot of local patrons that were in and out of the restaurant. Service was great throughout the evening. We started off with a couple pitchers of Stella and Hefeweizen and got our buzz on yelp.com/biz_photos/3rEp… Wings on Fire ~ yelp.com/biz_photos/3rEp… These were a good plate of wings. Good balance of heat and vinegar. Like all wings you can never just have one. Calamari ~ yelp.com/biz_photos/3rEp… These were big and breaded lightly. It came with their homemade cocktail sauce which had a good kick from the horseradish. We ordered 4 16" pizza's to share. They have several standard flavors but you can also create your own as well. Margherita pizza ~ yelp.com/biz_photos/3rEp… Pretty good. It had a bit more cheese and would have liked more basil. Pepperoni ~ yelp.com/biz_photos/3rEp… Good pizza with good amount of pepperoni. These 2 pizza's I was not able to try as I was already full but from what others told me they were pretty good. BBQ Chicken ~ yelp.com/biz_photos/3rEp… Traditional Works ~ yelp.com/biz_photos/3rEp… Aside from Pizza they have pasta, sandwiches, salads and desserts. Just like the pizza you can also create your own pasta. Eyes ~ Really liked the homey feel of the place. Nose ~ I smell pizza!!! Ear ~ Low background music. Our table was definitely the loudest. Mouth ~ Pretty good food here!!! Tummy ~ Satisfied and appetizers and 2 slices of pizza!

Good service. Pizza was good, well cooked, but not great or memorable. The environment is a bit cramped but they accommodate large groups. Also has a bar and TV and is usually is filled with regular customers.

Food was awesome! Service was really good and personable. Prices ok included soup or salad always a plus. Loved the chicken piccata very light and tasty. The risotto and spinach croquettes were soooo good. The only thing I could say was it would be nice to serve bread at the table

We got a flyer in our mail and being that pizza is my favorite food, I was enthused. Instead of a traditional pepperoni we opted for a teriyaki chicken pizza. When I called they said they didn't serve Newport Beach. But I Googled that I was in the 3 mile radius. She took my order, no big deal. Gave us a 45 minute estimate. Meh. But I was getting hangry. Over an hour later the pizza arrived. The driver was nice and the pizza was warm but I don't really identify teriyaki. It wasn't bad but I was severely disappointed. Probably won't look to them for delivery again but maybe dining in is better.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
